About Me
Hi, I'm Mia Schaeperkoetter, and I am a journalism student at the University of Central Florida!
Originally from South Florida, I began attending UCF in the Fall of 2024, where I was promptly accepted into the limited access journalism program. In the Spring of 2025, I was the arts, humanities, business and hospitality beat reporter for UCF's student media outlet, The Charge. In this position, I covered prominent events at each respective college and wrote profile stories on influential figures associated with the beat. Also in early 2025, I joined UCF's chapter of Her Campus magazine, where I continue to write pop culture debriefs, style guides and topical beat stories.
Over the summer, I had the opportunity to intern abroad in Florence, Italy at Magenta Florence Publishing, where I worked on Magenta Florence, Tuscan Trends and Vista magazine. During this internship experience, I grew exponentially as a writer, editor and reporter.
Now, I am thrilled to be back home continuing my journalism education in the vibrant cultural hub of Orlando.
