Florida budget cuts spark concerns for UCF performing arts community

Performing arts students and faculty said they are concerned about a loss in educational opportunities after Gov. Ron DeSantis made a $32 million budget cut to the fine arts at the beginning of the fiscal year. In June 2024, DeSantis vetoed $32 million of grants, according to the Fiscal 2025 Veto List. Of the cuts, $26 million were made to cultural and museum grants.
